Prizewinners of 75th Geneva International Music Competition

Montreal, November 2 2021 – The 75th Concours de Genève ended last week with the final rounds of the cello and oboe competition, held at Geneva’s magnificent Victoria Hall with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Georg Fritzsch (cello) and Douglas Boyd (oboe). Both finals were broadcast live on Espace 2 and live streamed on the Geneva Competition’s website, Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as on medici.tv.

First Prize of the Cello Competition 2021 was awarded to 25-year-old Japanese Michiaki Ueno. Bryan Cheng (24 years old, Canada) won Second Prize and Jaemin Han (15 years old, South Korea) was awarded Third Prize. The three finalists of the Oboe Competition Natalia Auli (26 years old, Venezuela), Louis Baumann (26 years old, France) and Zhiyu Sandy Xu (28 years old, Australia) each received Third Prize ex aequo.
