TORONTO (June 9, 2023)Toronto Summer Music announced programming details for the TD Free Concert Series at the 2023 Toronto Summer Music Festival, which runs July 6 to 29. The TD Free Concert Series features 22 free events including Kids Concerts, noon concerts, masterclasses, talks, sensory-friendly concerts, and SHUFFLE concerts.

TD Free Concert Series includes

KIDS CONCERTSintroduce your children to the amazing world of classical music through our engaging, one-hour concerts especially designed for children ages 5-12. Held at Walter Hall at 11 AM. Miró Quartet Wednesday, July 12
A fun and interactive introduction to the wonderful world of classical music with one of America’s most celebrated string quartets, the Miró Quartet, hosted by Joanna Kellam.

Chamber Music Galore Wednesday, July 19
Join Kelly Hall-Tompkins (violin), Jennifer Frautschi (violin), Barry Shiffman (viola), Matthew Zalkind (cello), and Philip Chiu (piano) as they introduce you to all things chamber music! Hosted by Joanna Kellam.

ACADEMY NOON CONCERTSone-hour concerts that showcase the brilliant performers from the Toronto Summer Music Academy for Emerging Artists, an intensive training program that runs concurrently with the TSM Festival. Held at Heliconian Hall at 12:00 PM.

Xenia Concerts and Toronto Summer Music present: The Rolston String Quartet Saturday, July 22
Join the Rolston String Quartet and guest violist Rory McLeod, presented in collaboration with Xenia Concerts and Toronto Summer Music. The theme of this concert is Back to the Future! Time travel back and forth with us from present day to the distant past, exploring the musical connections between old and new music. The program also includes a performance of Seven Miniatures, an original piece of music written by seven composers who identify as neurodivergent.

Toronto Summer Music (TSM) is a Festival and an Academy that serves to enrich lives within our community through the shared appreciation of music.
