Montreal, Thursday, September 18, 2025. The Stella Musica Festival, under the artistic leadership of its founder, pianist Katarzyna Musiał, unveils its 10th edition, which this year will take place from Oct. 17-26, 2025 at Place des Arts in Montreal.

Since its founding, the festival has sought to highlight women’s achievements in music and the arts, offering a varied program that spans classical, jazz, pop, flamenco and Indigenous musical traditions.

For its 10th edition, the public is invited to experience Montreal’s cultural richness through music, dance, and the visual arts, in the course of two unique events where emotion takes center stage.

PROGRAMMING

Friday, October 17, 2025 – 7:30 p.m.: Grand Concert

Cinquième Salle, Place des Arts, Montreal

The highlight of the festival’s 10th anniversary, the Grand Concert stands out for its diverse programme that blends classical music with various musical traditions. Music lovers will hear exceptional artists:

  • Élisabeth St-Gelais. One of the most promising young voices today on the Canadian lyric
    stage and recipient of numerous important prizes, the Innu soprano will sing works by
    Cécile Chaminade, Charles Gounod and Antonin Dvořák.
  • Fuego Flamenco. With their magnetic stage presence uniting flamenco’s raw intensity
    with Latin-American rhythmic impulses, the ensemble thus creates deeply authentic and
    strikingly innovative performances where music and dance intertwine.
  • Les Voix Boréales. This girl choir, part of Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval, will perform
    works by Inuit and Indigenous women composers (Inuk singer Elisapie and Cree
    composer Sherryl Sewepagaham) as well as original arrangements of pieces by Edith Piaf and Diane Dufresne, among others.
  • Adeline Kerry Cruz. A 12-year-old dance prodigy specializing in urban styles, she has performed internationally, most notably during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Sunday, October 26, 2025 – 3 p.m.: An Intimate Musical Journey

Salle Claude-Léveillée, Place des Arts, Montreal

This intimate concert will put to the fore the richness of women’s contributions to music in a
smaller setting allowing for greater proximity with the artists. The public will be led on a musical journey with an exciting and inspiring programme:

  • Up-and-coming mezzo-soprano Justine Ledoux accompanied by Martine Jomphe, both members of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, will sing excerpts from Carmen by Bizet, L’Hiver attend beaucoup de moi by Québec composer Laurence Jobidon, as well as works by Rossini, Offenbach, Berlioz and others;
  • Celebrated Polish-Canadian pianist Katarzyna Musiał will perform works by Grażyna Bacewicz and Manuel de Falla;
  • The Duo Aster. Featuring Athens-born saxophonist Clio Theodoridis along with pianist Jonathan Nemtanu, this energetic duo will perform four works ranging from Mediterranean, klezmer, and jazz-inflected compositions to classical masterpieces from
    French composer Fernande Decruck.
