November 29, 2023 (Philadelphia, PA) – Join Chantal Freeman, Soprano and her fantastic collaborator, Ting Ting Wong in an intimate evening of some her favorite French Chanson. She hopes to transport you from the comfort of your space to the warmth and intimacy of a small café.

The recital will be held on December 9, 2023 at 7:30pm (Doors open at 7:00pm, and Livestream access will be available starting at 7:15pm).  The recital will be held at The Perch, 2321 Emerald St. Philadelphia, PA, 19125.

About the Artists

Chantal Gabrielle Freeman, Soprano

Freeman is an up and coming Haitian-American Lyric Soprano based in New York City and Philadelphia. Most recently, she was the featured soprano Soloist with New York Choral Society’s “Angel of Many Signs” performance held in NYC.

In 2021, she was a featured soloist with NY Choral Society in their Love in Action concert and with the Mannes Sounds Festival Finale at Carnegie Hall. In 2022, she was a finalist for the Gerda Lissner International Vocal  Competition and a semi-finalist with the Joy in Singing competition. Her recent opera engagements include the role of “Shannon” in Santa Fe Opera’s workshop  of THE RIGHTEOUS and as the soloist for the Buffalo Master Chorale’s performance of Charles Goundod’s “St. Cecilia Mass.”

Ting Ting Wong, Pianist

Wong is a vocal coach and accompanist in the Philadelphia area. She is currently a staff accompanist for the Academy of Vocal Arts; accompanist for the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, the Jefferson University Singers (East Falls Campus), and the Philadelphia Voices of Pride; and director of music at Newtown Square Presbyterian Church and the Union League Voices. She also works with student singers at Haverford and Bryn Mawr colleges. She has served as chorus pianist with Opera Philadelphia, assistant conductor with ConcertOPERA Philadelphia, and pianist for the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh and Castleton festivals.

Ms. Wong made her debut as a collaborative pianist at the Kennedy Center in 2016 and performed with IlluminArts in Miami in April 2019.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ms. Wong holds a master’s degree in piano performance from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also earned a piano pedagogy certificate; and a master’s degree in piano accompanying and coaching from Temple University, where she studied with Lambert Orkis and Charles Abramovic.

Ms. Wong joined the adjunct faculty at Curtis in 2019.
