Montreal, May 30th, 2024. Pro Musica is delighted to announce the final concert in its Sur la route series with the duo formed in 2017 by Rosemarie Duval-Laplante and Jean-Michel Dubé. Both graduates of the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, they charm audiences with their charisma and stand out for their musical ideas and intimate sharing of the instrument. Since its formation, the duo has distinguished itself both in Canada and internationally. The duettists toured Jeunesses Musicales Canada in Quebec and Ontario in 2018, and New Brunswick in 2022, with the concert Le piano des Mathieu. Since then, they have given numerous concerts, including those for the Aramusique series, the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Montreal’s maisons de la culture, Musée de la Civilisation and Palais Montcalm, among others. In 2021, the duo has been invited to perform Saint-Saëns’ Carnaval des animaux with Les Violons du Roy, and with the Orchestre du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean in 2022. On the international scene, the duo represented Canada at Jeunesses Musicales International’s 75th anniversary event in 2020. The duo also performed in recitals in France, including a concert at the Musée de Port-Royal, and at the Festival des Haudères in Switzerland. In 2019, they have been invited by France Musique expressly to perform Debussy’s rarely played Six Épigraphes antiques, in a concert broadcast live on the station in Paris.
