Montréal, September 27, 2023 – The International Festival of Films on Art (Le FIFA) unveils a tour of free screenings across the province. A pilot project, running from September to December 2023, with the aim of making art films accessible to all audiences and all regions of Quebec.
A major player in the promotion of art films for over 40 years, both here and internationally, Le FIFA is today redoubling its efforts in its mission to promote cultural accessibility, by offering an innovative tour of free screenings in emblematic cultural venues in our region. This strategic partnership with the CDPQ bears witness to the vision shared by both organizations: that of cultural accessibility for all, and a significant contribution to the cultural and artistic enrichment of our society.
Le FIFA près de chez vous
With the inspiring slogan “Le FIFA près de chez vous” (Le FIFA near you), this exciting initiative will bring together film buffs and art lovers from all regions of Quebec. The tour, scheduled for this autumn, will present an exciting selection of art films, offering a free opportunity to discover and appreciate artistic creativity in all its forms.
Je me soulève by Hugo Latulippe, Gabor by Joannie Lafrenière, La véranda by Edgar Fritz about the architect Pierre Thibault or Pour l’art et l’environnement by Ginette Petit and Alain Baril, films that have been a great success both at home and abroad, will be presented as part of this tour, which will stop at the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, the Société d’arts et culture d’Oka, the Centre culturel St-John à Bromont, au Musée d’art de Joliette, at the Terrasses de la Fonderie presented with Fondation Grantham, and at the Centre d’art BANG! in Chicoutimi.

An internationally renowned event celebrating artistic creation in all its forms, Le FIFA has been presenting films about art and art films from around the world for over four decades. This tour will extend its reach throughout Quebec and reinforce its mission of cultural dissemination.

About Le FIFA
The International Festival of Films on Art (Le FIFA) is dedicated to the promotion and international influence of films on art and media arts. Under the general and artistic direction of Philippe U. del Drago, Le FIFA offers an annual event in March that allows the public to discover the latest productions of films on art. Through its programming, its many annual activities and its online art film platform (ARTS.FILM), Le FIFA, founded by René Rozon, is committed to increasing public knowledge and appreciation of art. Le FIFA is also committed to promoting the work of artists working in the fields of film, video and visual arts, as well as encouraging the production and distribution of films about art.
The 42nd edition of the festival will take place from March 14 to 24, 2024.
