Montreal, March 18, 2024 – GFN Productions presents a Canada-US tour featuring a thrilling take on Vivaldi and Piazzola’s Four Seasons, spanning performances across 11 cities. The FILMharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Francis Choinière, performs alongside star violinist Isabella d’Éloize Perron.

The ensemble received rave reviews and played to sold-out houses in 2021 and 2022, and, this April, makes stops in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Hamilton, Trois-Rivieres, St-Jerome, and Quebec City. In New York, Isabella d’Éloize Perron makes her debut performance at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, playing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.

The tour will be an opportunity to unveil Perron and Choinière’s brand-new album, Vivaldi & Piazzolla: The Four Seasons, set to be released on March 22, 2024. Recorded at the prestigious Montreal Maison Symphonique in September 2023, the album is an immersive journey into the spellbinding sounds of Vivaldi and Piazzolla, and a unique interpretation under the artistic direction of Francis Choinière and Denis Chabot. The album’s first single, Primavera Portneña by Piazzolla, is available on all streaming platforms: linktr.ee/gfnvivaldi

“This magnificent blend of baroque elegance and sensual tango rhythms evokes a sensuality that lies within us all. We want to bring diverse audiences together to enjoy the magic of an orchestral experience,” explains Maestro Choinière.

Generational Prodigies

Isabella d’Éloize Perron, now 24 is without a doubt a prodigy. Her spirit and intensity in performance is a testament to her astonishing maturity and authentic musicality. At age 10, she was a soloist with Yannick Nezet-Seguin’s Orchestre Métropolitain. Critic Claude Gingras (La Presse) described her then as “playing with the assurance of a professional, with impetus and accuracy“. Isabella has since appeared in countless performances across Europe, the United States, and Canada.

Francis Choinière, 27, is an active force in the Montreal music scene. Awarded the top prize for classical music in Canada, the Goyer Prize, and named to CBC’s list of top classical musicians under 30, he is a versatile artist, conductor, and producer. Choinière has collaborated with many internationally renowned artists as a choral conductor and collaborative conductor for concerts with Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Ramin Djawadi, and Hans Zimmer.

As the Artistic Director and conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique et Chœur des Mélomanes (OPCM), he has successfully programmed major choral and symphonic works at the Maison symphonique de Montréal, including a concert version of Puccini’s Bohème, André Mathieu’s Concerto de Québec with pianist Alain Lefèvre, and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Choinière is also the co-founder of GFN Productions, and the principal conductor and co-artistic director of the FILMharmonic Orchestra, which has presented sold-out productions of The Lord of the Rings in concert, as well as Star Wars, Titanic and Fantasia.
