Ottawa, Sept 6, 2023 – With the John Hobday Awards, the Canada Council for the Arts is proud to recognize the significant contributions of arts managers in professional arts organizations from Canada by providing support for professional development or mentoring opportunities.

Mentorship Award
Emmy is the executive director of the Capture Photography Festival. She will be mentored by Darcy Killeen, the executive director of the CONTACT Photography Festival. The project will enhance Emmy’s administrative and leadership skills.
Christie Peter Watson

Mentorship Award
Executive director for the Shuswap District Arts Council, Christie will be mentoring with Cathy Stubington, the managing and artistic director of the Runaway Moon Theatre. The mentoring project will focus on community-engaged art practice, with a particular priority on responding to community requests and being grounded in the overarching belief that everyone is welcome.
They will each receive a $10,000 prize.
