October 23, 2024 – The Board of Directors of the Festival de Lanaudière is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Clément Joubert, B. Mus, MBA as Executive Director.
“We are delighted to welcome Clément to our team. His advanced training in both music and management, combined with his impressive professional track record, make him an excellent choice for fulfilling the role of Executive Director of Canada’s largest classical music festival. We are convinced that he will contribute to the Festival de Lanaudière’s growth as well as its national and international prestige. Building on the carefully articulated vision of our Artistic Director Renaud Loranger, Clément Joubert will showcase the talent of our permanent team, the commitment of our volunteers, and the close collaboration of our partners and the public,” stated Simon Brault, President of the Festival de Lanaudière Board of Directors.
Clément Joubert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance and Music Theory from McGill University and an MBA from McGill-HEC Montréal. He worked at the McGill Conservatory for 18 years, first as the founding director the Day Camp and subsequently as the Conservatory Director. More recently, he fulfilled the function of Director of Operations for Young Audiences at Jeunesses Musicales Canada. His attachment to the Lanaudière Region began in his childhood, with time spent on his grandfather’s land, today the Parc régional des Chutes Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles. As a youngster, he attended four summers at the Camp musical de Lanaudière, where he met Father Lindsay, and retains fond memories of the experience to this day.
“It is with immense gratitude and enthusiasm that I join the Festival de Lanaudière team. Not only am I determined to maintain its excellence, but to contribute to its growth and evolution. My goal is to increase the Festival’s reach, the diversity of its audience, and to develop innovative initiatives that will propel it to new heights, both artistically and in terms of its community engagement. I look forward to working with the Festival team, artists, partners, and invaluable volunteers.” – Clément Joubert, Executive Director of the Festival de Lanaudière.
The choice of Clément Joubert as Executive Director was the result of a rigorous selection process. The Festival’s Board of Directors takes this opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional contribution of the outgoing Executive Director Xavier Roy, and to express tremendous gratitude for his dedication to the organization and cultural community over the past four years. Mr. Roy stepped down from his position with the Festival de Lanaudière on August 23, 2024.
The Festival de Lanaudière is a touchstone of the unique and culturally effervescent city of Joliette and its surrounding region.
