The Montreal Conservatoire was closed yesterday following a COVID-19 outbreak.
Sources state that a student was tested positive after having been in contact with an infected person last week. Some teachers as well as several students have been asked by the Dean to self-quarantine over the weekend while they wait for the results of their PCR tests. There are now reportedly several confirmed cases among the students.
“We had to close to investigate on Monday but the school is open today,” Danielle Boucher, a Conservatoire official, confirmed in an email on Feb. 16.
Some in-person classes are expected to resume, while many will take place via Zoom until the situation has improved.
