The 75th Geneva International Music Competition is starting this Saturday! The 16 candidates qualified for the semi–finals will be performing in Geneva from 23–26 October. Cellists will have to perform a 60–minute program, which includes a Sonata by Boccherini or J.S. Bach, a solo contemporary piece and the remaining program at free choice. Oboists will be presenting a 60–minute performance with Mozart’s Oboe Quartet in F Maj, a baroque Sonata with harpsichord, a contemporary piece for oboe solo and the rest of the program at free choice.
The Final rounds will be held on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 October at Victoria Hall, in Geneva. Finalists will get to perform with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Georg Fritzsch (Cello Final) and Douglas Boyd (Oboe Final).
The Semi-Finals and Finals will be live streamed on our website and social media, as well as by our partners medici.tv, The Violin Channel and Marigaux Paris !
