“This festival offers a unique exploration into Indigenous culture and illustrates the diversity, vitality and excellence of Indigenous art,” said Executive Director Christine Frederick. “We are committed to giving Indigenous artists a platform to showcase their art, grow as artists and contribute to the community.”
Due to Alberta COVID-19 regulations, the festival will be held virtually for the first time in 28 years. Festival passes are on sale for $25 from the Dreamspeakers website. People who purchase tickets will have access to films from Australia, Brazil, Fiji, the United States, and Canada. The festival will showcase feature films with live sessions and watch parties for all who wish to attend. All ages are welcome and participants 18 years and younger require parental consent to purchase tickets.
The Dreamspeakers International Indigenous Film Festival is a reflection of the diversity of Indigenous nations around the world and delivers a unique celebration of Indigenous cultures from around the world.
The Dreamspeakers Festival Society is a registered non-profit charitable status organization that produces an international film festival to celebrate the latest works by Indigenous peoples innovation in film, video, radio, and new media, presenting selections of Indigenous works since 1993.
