Montreal, May 16, 2024 – Pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko has won the top honours at the 2024 Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM).

In addition to remarkable technical mastery and musicality, Jaeden Izik-Dzurko stood out for his captivating stage charisma. As the Grand Laureate of Piano 2024, he also won several special prizes. The Final took place at the Maison symphonique, where the six finalists performed the concerto of their choice accompanied by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM), the official orchestra of the CMIM, under the direction of Guest Conductor Xian Zhang.

Chaired by cultural manager Zarin Metha (USA, India), the international jury consisted of nine members: Dmitri Alexeev (Russia, UK), Lydia Artymiw (USA), Louise Bessette (Canada), Jan Jiracek von Arnim (Germany), Robert Levin (USA), Hélène Mercier (Canada), Ronan O’Hora (Great Britain, Ireland), and Minsoo Sohn (South Korea). More than $200,000 in prizes and grants were awarded.

  • Engagement for a concert or recital in a subsequent program of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, offered by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal
  • Engagement for a recital for the 2025-2026 season of the Coast Recital Society offered by the Coast Recital Society, British Columbia
