A graduate of the Université Libre de Bruxelles in the performing arts and the Nice-Sophia-Antipolis University, Céline started her career in Belgium at the Festival Troubles de Bruxelles (2013) and accompanied La Charge du Rhinocéros at Festival d’Avignon in 2014. She moved to Montreal in 2015 and joined the Festival Accès Asie team in September 2016 as Coordinator.
A part of the Festival Access Asia team for 20 years, Festival General Manager and painter, Khosro Berahmandi, has been planning this succession for more than a year. He has taken on the role of Artistic Director and Development and has been assisting the new general manager to take office.
I will work closely with Khosro Berahmandi who, with his experience as general manager, will enable me to achieve my main objective of guiding Festival Accès Asia in its expansion phase. Since 2015, the Festival has taken a strategic turn, allowing it to grow and secure an enviable place in the cultural landscape of Montreal, both artistically and in terms of its governance. My ambition is to further the Festival`s mandate as the showcase for Asian arts and its artists in Quebec, Canada and beyond.
