Immigrants who are professional musicians

Mécénat Musica Concerts Garage is principally offered to immigrants who are professional musicians. The aim is to help outstanding artists introduce their culture of origin, and work with local artists in a spirit of diversity and inclusion.

23% of the Canadian population are immigrants. Immigrant musicians were often artistic leaders in their countries of origin before their new lives in Montreal, in Quebec and in Canada.

Mécénat Musica Concerts Garage focuses on the Plateau-Mont-Royal, “the most densely populated district in Canada,” recognized internationally as a major artistic center with a large concentration of artists, musicians and arts organizations.

The aim is to work together to transmit culture as a notion, not just as a series of performances. Mécénat Musica Concerts Garage is the initiative of Ziya Tabassian, supported by the donors of Mécénat Musica and Concerts noncerto since 2016.
