Intern: Editorial Assistant 2

Duration: 12 weeks full-time (35 hrs/week) or 420 hours in Winter 2025 (Jan 2 to March 31, 2025)
Funding: Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages
Eligibility:
- are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible);
- are legally entitled to work in Canada;
- will be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
- will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works (YCW) work assignment;
- have been a high school, college, CEGEP or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment;
- intend to return to studies during or after the YCW work assignment; and
- have a working knowledge of both English and French.
Description
- Assisting the Editor in chief in his duties;
- Taking part in all tasks related to the preparation and publication of an arts magazine;
- Taking part in all editorial and production meetings;
- Working on production of editorial content under the editor’s supervision;
- Performing an array of writing and production related tasks;
- Updating magazine website, edit weekly e-newsletter and edit LSM’s social media
- Period: Full-time 35-40 hrs/week to a total of 420 hours (Fall 2024)
Qualifications
- Related field of study and/or experience; Preference for a music student
- Fluency in English and French, both written and oral;
- Self starter with a sense of initiative and personal responsibility;
- Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules;
- Knowledge of HTML and Photoshop, an asset;
- Knowledge of the arts in general and music in particular are a definite asset.
