August 13, 2025 – Yesterday, Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec (OPQ) announced that Executive Director Véronique Bugeaud will leave her position on August 29.

Bugeaud has been with OPQ for just over a year, taking over the position from Jean-Marc Léveillé. Previously, she worked with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) for seven years, focusing on sponsorship development.

Her departure from OPQ was shared on the orchestra’s social media channels as well as Bugeaud’s personal LinkedIn where she wrote, “After an exciting and challenging time at the OPQ, filled with wonderful encounters, I will be turning the page on my chapter as executive director…”

In this post, Bugeaud reflected on her accomplishments with OPQ including the ratification of a solid collective agreement in October 2024; a clear roadmap resulting from the mediation process completed in January 2025; confirmation of their regional mission to serve 1.5 million citizens in the Montérégie region; and a financial recovery underway.

Bugeaud thanked those who have contributed to her journey thus far and promised that her next step will certainly be in the musical world.
