Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols gets the holiday season off to a jubilant start! Laurie Evan Fraser conducts the Upper Canada Choristers and their accomplished Latin ensemble, Cantemos, joined by pianist Hye Won (Cecilia) Lee and guest harpist Liane James, with Nora Dunn as narrator.  The concert features music ranging from a 15th century French carol based on a 12th century Latin text to stirring works of our age – among them British composer Philip Stopford’s haunting contemporary setting of the 16th century Coventry Carol, and music by Laurie Evan Fraser, American composer Elaine Hagenberg, and Venezuela’s César Alejandro Carrillo. The concert also streams live via the choir’s website. While there is no charge for the livestream, donations are gratefully welcomed.
In person tickets $30.00; Free: 16 and under when accompanied by an adult.
