There’s something about living on the edge of the world that tends to encourage far-reaching perspectives. With Amanda Blied on guitar, Miriam Sonstenes on fiddle and Tad Ruszel on mandolin, The Sweet Lowdown is a Canadian roots trio based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
With a combination of a fiddle, guitar and mandolin, they offer original acoustic roots music with influences as far-ranging as Celtic jigs, Appalachian fiddling and contemporary pop. The trio has received multiple Canadian award nominations and wins, including an Island Roots Album of the year award. It is their first appearance at Indian River Festival.
