Montrealers will finally meet Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s American family, the Philadelphia Orchestra. Known for its rich string section, the Philadelphia sound developed through many collaborations with Rachmaninoff, whose grand and epic Symphony No. 2 will be performed at this evening’s concert. More recently, Florence Price also earned a special place in the hearts of Philadelphia musicians, who have played many of her works.
