A genius among geniuses, Bach was a driving force of the Baroque era… and beyond. He greatly influenced Mendelssohn, likewise for Schumann, the debt particularly striking in the choral of his second symphony. Guest soloist for the evening will be violinist Stella Chen, a 2019 winner of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth competition of Belgium, whose appearance with the OSTR marks her Canadian debut, straight on the heels of her equally prestigious concert debut at Carnegie Hall.
