The Toronto Symphony Orchestra Chamber Soloists came together in 2014 with a mission to create programming that features a diverse and varied range of instruments. Acclaimed as an ensemble of distinguished virtuosi, the Chamber Soloists have the flexibility to present a wide range of unusual and infrequently performed repertoire, along with some of the best-loved chamber works.
Curated by Concertmaster Jonathan Crow, the Chamber Soloists will consist of five TSO principals, along with clarinetist Miles Jaques, to perform an eclectic program: String Trio by Jean Françaix; Serenata in vano, CNW69, by Carl Nielsen; Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, Op. 28, by Richard Strauss; and Beethoven’s beloved Septet in E flat Major, Op. 20.
