“Accompanied by the renowned pianist Daniel Blumenthal, the contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux sings twelve poems by Charles Baudelaire, taken from the poetry collection Les fleurs du mal, with music by Charpentier, Fauré, Chausson, Debussy, Duparc and Léo Ferré. At his side, the great actor Raymond Cloutier plays the role of the poet, recounting his life, Paris, the Second Empire, the origin of certain verses and reciting some of the poems and prose pages of the man who brought literature into the modern era.
An evening full of music and poetry! An evening where “There, everything is order and beauty, luxury, calm and pleasure”. (Baudelaire). That Marie-Nicole Lemieux shines today in the firmament of world singing is not surprising. The singer, as well as the woman, radiate with that aura that belongs only to the greatest!”
