For this 17th edition of Composer’s Kitchen, Quatuor Bozzini invites four emerging composers.

Each year, Quatuor Bozzini opens its Composer’s Kitchen: a residency program for emerging composers with workshops and master classes, which leads to four creations for the string quartet.

This year, Canadian composers Maria-Eduarda Martins and Louis-Michel Tougas and Dutch composers David Ko and Gijs van der Heijden were selected to participate in this residency following an open call for works in collaboration with the Gaudeamus Festival (Netherlands). They are accompanied by mentors composers Jimmie Leblanc and Mayle Nas in their creative process.

Their works will have their world premiere at this festival on September 10, 2023, and will be performed by Quatuor Bozzini in Montreal.
