“Ô-Celli is beautifully unique” (The Daily Courier, N. Bowman) was the signature phrase of the Ô-Celli cello octet tour in spring 2019 across British Columbia. Ô-Celli it is the unique vibration of the cello which multiplied by eight gives a dimension of sound cathedral to the works arranged and revisited by the original and magnificent Belgian ensemble of cellos. Ô-Celli brings together classically trained musicians who reflect their era, open to the world and its diversity. The concerts are invitations to travel, in time and beyond stylistic boundaries. From Verdi to Queen, through Strauss or Piazzolla, “in the end it is always the music that wins” (Michel Legrand). Ô-Celli is a human adventure initiated by Sébastien Walnier and Alexandre Beauvoir, who have gathered around them solo cellists from orchestras or chamber musicians, who share the same passion for their instrument. Since 2011, the year of their first concerts, the Brussels Eight have a key word: pleasure! The one they take together on the roads and stages of Europe and Canada, the one they see in the eyes of the public and the one they have to continue building new projects.
