The Orchestre national of jazz de Montréal is delighted to present Chapter II of the Trilogy of Smells, a composition by Jacques Kuba Séguin commissioned by the ONJ which marks a new cycle of creation for this trumpet player and composer.
Smell is the sense that appeals to him the most after hearing. What if the two were more similar than we imagine and that there are many links between smells and music? Both have the power to appeal to our subconscious and awaken deep memories, to provoke emotions. We all have a musical background in our lives. We also have an olfactory framework in our memory and on our bodies, a series of smells linked to memories slumber in us.
After having explored the natural materials that constitute perfumes with the background of the beginnings of life with references to childhood, this second chapter dives into the heart of scents, into the events of life that mark, leave a trace. It will be lively, frontal, powerful and with a lot of groove!
