The first big band created within the armies in the early 1970s, this group was inspired by the great American jazz orchestras of the “swing” period. His varied repertoire combines classical compositions and more modern creations; thus the standards of Count Basie, Duke Ellington or Thad Jones rub shoulders with pieces by Bob BrookMeyer and Bob Florence.
