With Les Chants de Mon Pays (Songs of My Country), Marie-Josée Lord shares with audiences the timeless music that shaped her childhood. In her family home, the living room turntable played songs by iconic Quebec artists like Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, Diane Juster, Monique Leyrac, Claude Léveillée, Claude Dubois, Robert Charlebois and Sylvain Lelièvre. These masterful poets and songwriters made an indelible mark on Lord’s life and spirit, and they continue to be deeply woven into her world.

These are songs of madness, war and springtime. They impel us to build a strong nation, protect our unique language and create a brighter future for our children. They evoke love and dreams, moments of childhood, the memories of fading eras, evenings by the piano, bustling neighbourhoods and the intimate lives of friends and families.
