Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (DJD) exceptional musicality and rhythmic, percussive style have made it a crowd favourite since its founding in Calgary 38 years ago. Described as “music for the eyes”, DJD celebrates the rich traditions and flourishing future of jazz dance. The full company will make its Saint-Sauveur debut this summer in Family of Jazz, accompanied by the six musicians and vocalist Karimah of the Rubim de Toledo ensemble. The choreographic works of Brandi Coleman, Melanie George, Lisa Latouche and Kimberley Cooper, DJD’s artistic director, combine to create a lively and festive show!
