Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Colin Stetson spent a decade honing his talents as a horn player, between Brooklyn and San Francisco, before settling in Montreal in 2007. A collaborator to many renowned artists, such as Tom Waits and Bon Iver, credited on many music scores, Stetson developed his unique voice as a soloist, mainly on saxophones and clarinets. With technical prowess, exhilarating songwriter skills and astounding physical engagement with his instruments, he produces emotionally rich and polyphonic compositions that transcend expectations of what solo horn playing can sound like.
