This winter, the COC invites audiences to The Cunning Little
Vixen, a fairytale opera from Leoš Janáček, returning to our stage
for the first time in over 20 years. After premiering last season at
English National Opera, the fantastical and larger-than-life
production arrives in Toronto for timely reflection on humanity’s
relationship with planet Earth, set to a lyrical and deeply moving
score from the Czech composer. COC Music Director Johannes
Debus conducts the COC Orchestra and a cast that features
acclaimed Canadian soprano Jane Archibald and an opera house
debut from English bass-baritone Christopher Purves.
