Staggering projections and eye-popping sets dial up the drama in the COC’s newest staging of Don Giovanni. Mozart’s twisted masterpiece follows a predatory aristocrat whose latest seduction spirals out of control, setting up his ultimate downfall. A cast of COC favourites and internationally celebrated artists bring this epic story to life, featuring Canadian bass-baritone Gordon Bintner as the title character, renowned Romanian soprano Anita Hartig as his jilted lover Donna Elvira, and Italian bass-baritone Paolo Bordogna as his servant Leporello. COC Music Director Johannes Debus leads the COC Orchestra through some of the most thrilling, adventurous, and elegant music the composer ever wrote.
