Dedicated to exploring the repertoire for string quartet, the Quatuor Cobalt performs works that span a vast period, from the transitional period between the Baroque and Classical eras right up until the creation of contemporary works. Always in search of new frontiers to cross, the members of the quartet journey through the ages, pairing knowledge and musical research historically accurate gut-stringed instruments and bows, while pushing back the limits of their sound by experimenting with unconventional techniques and electronic music. Artists-in-residence at the Historic Chapel of Bon-Pasteur for the 2022-2023 season, the Quatuor Cobalt performs regularly in prestigious Canadian concert halls such as Massey Hall and the Palais Montcalm.
