Bach en contrepoint avec deux compositeurs ultra-modernes, voici un programme qui sied tout à fait au claveciniste irano-américain Mahan Esfahani. Car c’est bien J.S Bach, dit-il, qui l’amena à se passionner pour toutes les musiques. Et les choix musicaux non conventionnels ne s’arrêtent pas là: en effet, pour agrémenter le Concerto de Bach notre soliste choisit une cadence surprenante de Johannes Brahms.

Bach in counterpoint with two ultra-modern composers, here is a programme which fits the Iranian-American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani like a glove. Indeed, he comments, it is J.S. Bach who brought him to know and appreciate all music. And the unconventional musical choices don’t stop there: as a matter of fact, to spice up Bach’s Concerto our soloist chooses a surprising cadence by Johannes Brahms.
