Hayoung Choi won first prize at the 2022 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium, as well as two special prizes and first prize at the third edition of the Krzysztof Penderecki International Cello Competition (2018). At the age of thirteen, she became the youngest musician ever to win the Johannes Brahms International Competition in Austria.

She has performed with renowned soloists such as Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, Mitsuko Uchida and Antoine Tamestit.
