Joseph Funk (he/him) is a hard-hitting brass musician and composer/arranger from Toronto. His music is performed in various groups, including the Live Video Game Orchestra, Symmetry Project Jazz Orchestra, and the Extended Mix, as well as at institutions such as the University of Toronto and the Canadian Armed Forces. He won Artist of the Year at the 2025 Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival with his group, Funk10tet, and is the inaugural recipient (2023) of the Guido Basso Flugelhorn Scholarship, and is also the 2020 recipient of the full tuition Albert and Wilhelmine Francis Renewable Entrance Scholarship in Music at the University of Toronto.

He held the November 2023 artist residency at The Emmet Ray and appears as a recording artist and arranger with artists such as Rocco, Koven Wei, and Christopher Ma. Joseph’s unmistakable sound and creative musical presence have led him to be the new distinctive musical voices in Toronto.
