Music Niagara is delighted to welcome acclaimed Canadian vocalist Heather Bambrick & Friends Featuring Broadsway to close our Summer Jazz Series celebrating Women in Jazz.
JUNO and ECMA-nominated singer Heather Bambrick is known for her sparkling stage presence, remarkable vocal clarity, and joyful connection with audiences. Her concerts have been described as what happens when “Ella Fitzgerald meets Carol Burnett at a Newfoundland kitchen party,” blending world-class jazz vocals with warmth, humour, and irresistible musical storytelling.
Over the course of her celebrated career, Heather has collaborated with renowned artists including Fred Hersch, Guido Basso, Rob McConnell, Peter Appleyard, Phil Nimmons, Mike Murley, and Robi Botos, among many others. A founding member of both The Beehive Singers and Broadsway, she has performed throughout North America, England, France, Germany, and the Caribbean. Her voice can also be heard on film and television soundtracks including Murdoch Mysteries and the award-winning video game Cuphead. In addition to her performance career, Heather is one of Canada’s top voice actors and an award-winning broadcaster, having hosted programs on JAZZ.FM91 for more than 25 years.
This special performance will feature Heather Bambrick & Friends Featuring Broadsway, a powerhouse ensemble of Toronto-based vocalists who bring a fresh, jazz-infused take to Broadway favourites. From Gershwin to Gaga, these dynamic performers combine tight harmonies, musical theatre flair, and cabaret-style charm in a show that is as entertaining as it is musically exceptional. As acclaimed New York host Jim Caruso puts it, they “sing their heads off and actually entertain the hell out of their audiences.”
The evening also features acclaimed Music Director and pianist Diane Leah, whose extraordinary career spans more than five decades in Canadian music and theatre. Diane has worked with celebrated artists including Jackie Richardson, Louise Pitre, and Thom Allison, and was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for public service in 2013.
Joining the ensemble is vocalist Kylie Martin, an accomplished performer and songwriter who has toured and recorded with The Beehive Singers, Jaymz Bee and the Royal Jelly Orchestra, and 4Skör. Her recording credits include collaborations with Carol Welsman and Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
Also featured is Dale Miller, one of Toronto’s most sought-after vocalists whose career spans opera, musical theatre, pop, and television. Dale has appeared with the Canadian Opera Company, Young People’s Theatre, and Theatre Calgary, and has shared the stage with artists including Josh Groban, Rick Mercer, and Jimmy Rankin.
Together, Heather Bambrick & Friends Featuring Broadsway create an unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry, versatility, and spirit of women in jazz and beyond.
Set beneath the beautiful Music Niagara Festival Tent at Ironwood Cider House, guests are invited to arrive early at 5:00 PM to enjoy food options available for purchase, along with wine and Ironwood’s signature cider, before the concert begins at 7:00 PM.
A perfect way to celebrate the voices of Women in Jazz and conclude Music Niagara’s Summer Jazz Series in style.
