The Consort Laurentien specializes in 16th- and 17th-century chamber music repertoire for strings and brass instruments. The core of the group consists of Julie Rivest (baroque violin), Étienne Asselin (cornetto), Maximilien Brisson (baroque trombone), and Christophe Gauthier (organ and harpsichord), four musicians who have worked together for over fifteen years on various projects and who joined forces in 2018 to form one of the first ensembles of its kind in Canada. Charles Daniels is an English tenor, particularly known for his interpretations of Baroque music. He is a frequent soloist with The King’s Consort and has made over 25 recordings with the ensemble on the Hyperion label.
