Montréal, Monday, February 2nd — Renowned jazz saxophonist Rémi Bolduc announces the release of his new and twelfth album on Thursday, April 9, titled Le Bolduc Groove Quintet. This highly anticipated release marks a new milestone in the career of one of the most influential figures on the Canadian jazz scene. To celebrate the occasion, an album launch concert will take place the same day at LE STUDIO TD, in the heart of Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles. Rémi Bolduc will be joined by Chantel de Villiers on tenor saxophone and vocals, Nick Semenykhin on guitar, Ira Coleman on double bass, and Rich Irwin on drums.
Tickets are available at the regular price of $24, and $15 for students and seniors aged 65 and over.
A leading figure in jazz for more than 40 years, Rémi Bolduc is recognized both for his instrumental virtuosity and for the depth and maturity of his musical language. A highly respected saxophonist and educator, he is the Coordinator of the Jazz Department at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University. Over the course of his career, he has released 11 jazz albums and collaborated with internationally renowned musicians including Kenny Werner, Marc Johnson, Ben Monder, and Jerry Bergonzi.
An innovator and dedicated educator, Rémi Bolduc has also designed three saxophone models for the company Expression and contributed to the development of the Twigg Musique series. A Yamaha and D’Addario Canada artist, he remains deeply involved in music education, leading numerous workshops and initiatives to support the next generation of jazz musicians.
The release of this new album and the April 9, 7:30 PM launch concert promise an exceptional evening, highlighting the full artistic richness and experience of a musician who continues to shape jazz with passion and integrity.
