Don’t miss your chance to experience the poetic performances and fun-loving personalities of the Kanneh-Mason Trio—pianist Isata, violinist Braimah, and cellist Sheku—as they perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, a work that shows the German composer at his most playful and light-hearted.
Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony—written just before his Triple Concerto—reimagines the symphonic form as a journey of vast musical scope and profound emotion. Beginning with two thunderous chords that changed orchestral music forever, Beethoven’s “Eroica” captures the anxiety and resilience of his turbulent time with music that moves through struggle and grief before ending in a triumphant blaze of glory.
And Nicole Lizée’s Zeiss After Dark translates the natural, candlelit lighting of Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 film Barry Lyndon to music with a wash of mesmerizing orchestral colours that glow, flicker, and crackle with quiet intensity.
