Lachine, May 13, 2020 – Concerts Lachine is very proud to have adapted its summer programming in order to allow the public to discover classical music without leaving the comfort of your home.
Between July 4 and 19, you will be able to enjoy the Lachine Music Festival via Facebook and/or on other platforms. Obviously, this solution will not replace live events in the concert hall, but we believe that this initiative will be particularly appreciated by our artists and by our existing and new audience members to this exciting series that has been presented for over 40 years. As is usually the case these concerts of exclusive content, captured live and of great quality will be offered free, though the public will be able to show their appreciation by making a donation.
In collaboration with l’Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, Concerts Lachine is also preparing a virtual version of the Lachine International Vocal Academy : an advanced vocal program offered by 6 internationally renowned professors for 22 gifted young singers and student pianists on the brink of a professional career. The program, to be held between June 19 and July 3, will focus on activities that are particularly suited to learning at a distance, for example ; vocal technique, French and German lyric diction, and a career development workshop.
Following the extraordinary success of the open Masterclasses presented during the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Academy, we are actively working on the possibility of allowing the general public to discover, once again, some of the challenges that await these aspiring young artists and the thoughts and advice of the invited professors.
