Montreal, February 1st, 2021 – Pro Musica is pleased to announce the next concert in the Cartes Blanches Series with cellist Stéphane Tétreault, accompanied on piano by Lysandre Ménard. Dedicated to works by Chopin and Schumann, the concert will be available on February 14 as of 8 a.m. on the Livetoune platform and will remain accessible for two weeks.

Stéphane Tétreault is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, including the “2018 Maureen Forrester Next Generation Award” in recognition of his sensitivity, his mastery of his instrument and his great communication skills. In 2013, he received the very first “Fernand-Lindsay Career Grant” from the Fondation Père Lindsay as well as the “Choquette-Symcox Award” from the JM Canada. Winner of First Prize at the 2007 Standard Life-OSM Competition, he was named “Révélation Radio-Canada” in classical music, “Découverte de l’année” at the Prix Opus and “Personnalité de la semaine” by the daily newspaper La Presse. Named first Soloist-in-Residence of the Orchestre Métropolitain, Stéphane has performed, among others, with Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin during the 2014-2015 season. In 2016, he makes his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra, under Maestro Nézet-Séguin, and performs at the prestigious Gstaad Menuhin Festival in Switzerland. In the 2017-2018 season, he took part in the Orchestre Métropolitain’s first European tour with Maestro Nézet-Séguin and makes his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Stéphane holds a master’s degree in performance from the Université de Montréal.
Stéphane Tétreault plays the 1707 “Countess of Stainlein, Ex-Paganini” Stradivarius cello, generously loaned to him by Mrs. Sophie Desmarais.
Noted for her admirable artistic qualities, both as a pianist and an actress, Lysandre Ménard has distinguished herself in numerous competitions and has given many concerts in Quebec, the United States and Europe. She was a finalist in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for her performance in Léa Pool’s La passion d’Augustine at the 2016 Gala Québec Cinéma.
