Minor finger injury to cellist Stéphane Tétreault results in postponement of January 19 concert. New date: Monday, February 18, 7:30pm at Salle Bourgie.

For Immediate Release, January 15, Montreal, QC … The McGill Chamber Orchestra’s concert featuring cellist Stéphane Tétreault as guest soloist, has been postponed until Monday, February 18 at 7:30 pm at Salle Bourgie. The delay is due to a minor injury to Tétreault’s finger, a cut requiring stitches. The injury is expected to heal quickly with Tétreault making a swift return to the concert stage.

Stéphane Tétreault comments: “My sincere apologies to my fans in Montreal for this unfortunate postponement. I look forward to seeing you on February 18 and to performing with Maestro Brott and the MCO once again.”

Boris Brott comments: “Given the very special nature of this homecoming concert, I could not imagine replacing Stéphane Tétreault with any other cellist. I am thrilled that we have been able to find a date so quickly.”

The MCO’s Tchaïkovsky & Tétreault, conducted by Boris Brott, marks the return to the orchestra with which the prodigy made his orchestral debut at only 12 years of age. The concert programme revisits the beloved Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky, which Tétreault and the orchestra performed together at that first concert, along with Alexander Brott’s 1957 work Arabesque for solo cello and orchestra. The MCO also performs Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and Anton Arensky’s Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky.

All tickets sold for Saturday, January 19 will be honoured for the new date of Monday, February 18. Patrons requesting a refund or exchange for another concert, should contact [email protected] or 514-487-5190.
