Live at the Winspear: Summer Patio Series

Edmonton, AB (July 27, 2015) – The Winspear Centre’s Live at the Winspear Summer Patio Series continues this week with two incredible performances. Following a successful series launch, the Winspear Centre Patio has welcomed over one thousand visitors. Next up we will welcome the incredibly talented youth of Human Youth Society and a trained soprano and educator, Jessie Marie Gibney.

The Winspear Centre is thrilled to be activating our front patio through this series, welcoming visitors to Churchill Square to come rest under the shade of our tall trees (complete with tree house) and experience the talent and enthusiasm our artists and community builders have for their craft. The Live at the Winspear Summer Patio series creates space for community, cultural exchange, and direct interaction with the artists in the showcase. Through this program, the Winspear Centre is providing a platform for other arts and community organizations to showcase their talent and share it with the downtown Edmonton community.

The area being transformed is an underutilized space that most people walk by without a second glance. This initiative and the series of concerts, workshops, and gatherings that will follow throughout the summer highlight the space as a fantastic performance venue, while creating a new space for collaboration and celebrating the work of the arts and service organizations that surround Churchill Square and the neighbourhoods beyond.
