How has the crisis affected you?

Like many artists, my spring season was cancelled and coming engagements this summer and fall are unclear.

What are your five favourite operas?

Verdi’s Otello, Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades, Puccini’s Turandot, Verdi’s Il Trovatore and Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. My favorite singers are Callas, Corelli, Tebaldi, Pavarotti, Tucker, Scotto, Leonard Warren, Freni, Hvorostovsky, Caballé, Moffo, Nilsson, and Price. My favorite singers of today are Sondra Radvanovsky, Ailyn Pérez, Isabel Leonard and Rachel Willis-Sorenson.

What movies, television shows and books do you recommend?

Right now, I’m rewatching The Handmaid’s Tale, reading Kintsugi Wellness by Candace Kumai and listening to the Ed Mylett Show podcast and whatever daily mixes my Spotify creates. I’ve also been getting back into German language study with Duolingo and staying active through biking, running, and strength workouts on the Peloton app.

Why did you join Corona Serenades?

We’re all in this difficult time together and if there is anything I can do to help others who are dealing with hardships, I definitely want to help!
