McGill Chamber Orchestra

Caractère hébraïque et Monuments Slaves à l’OM

In March, OM will taste the Slavic language and perform the powerful Glagolithic Mass by Janáček, a choral masterpiece. Christian Arming, conductor, with the great Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund, mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne, tenor David Pomeroy, bass-baritone Andrew Foster-Williams, and the Chœur Métropolitain, celebrating 30 years this season. Les Idées Heureuses

Passiontide has inspired music that stirred up profoundness, pain, and sensuality in Baroque composers. In collaboration with the Arte ­Musica Foundation, Les idées heureuses has prepared a concert featuring religious works fitting the above criteria. Works by Handel, Graupner, and Zelenka are programmed. Florian Heverick, conductor; Geneviève Soly, organ; Suzie LeBlanc, soprano; and Philippe Gagné, tenor. L’Oratorio de Pâques avec l’Ensemble Caprice

As part of the complete cantata cycle, Ensemble Caprice and conductor Matthias Maute present Easter Oratorio and Cantata BWV 6 by Johann Sebastian Bach. No narration exists, but four characters tell the story through song. Jana Miller, soprano (Mary of Clopas); Maude Brunet, mezzo-soprano (Mary Magdalene); Philippe Gagné, tenor (Simon Peter), and Dion Mazerolle, baritone (John).
