Margaret Kampmeier, piano<\/p>\n<p>Bridge 9555<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Les Montr\u00e9alais d\u2019un certain \u00e2ge se souviendront de Robert Langevin comme de la fl\u00fbte solo associ\u00e9e de l\u2019OSM qui a ensuite obtenu les meilleurs postes \u00e0 l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de Pittsburgh et l\u2019Orchestre philharmonique de New York. Dans cette parution de 77 minutes, le natif de Sherbrooke applique son timbre large et radieux \u00e0 la musique fran\u00e7aise des d\u00e9cennies du tournant du 20<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, lorsque la vie \u00e0 Paris \u00e9tait une chose douce, mais parfois aussi douce-am\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>On entend des interpr\u00e9tations \u00e9vocatrices de deux classiques de Debussy, <i>Syrinx<\/i> et <i>Pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi d\u2019un faune<\/i>, ce dernier dans un arrangement de 1925 de Gustave Samazeuilh pour fl\u00fbte et piano, mais le reste du programme comprend des \u0153uvres peu connues de Charles-Marie Widor (dont la <i>Suite<\/i> op. 34 de 1877), Jules Mouquet (dont l\u2019intrigant <i>Pan et les oiseaux<\/i> \u2013 le deuxi\u00e8me des trois mouvements d\u2019une suite de 1904 intitul\u00e9e <i>La Fl\u00fbte de Pan<\/i> \u2013 appara\u00eet comme une version plus sombre de <i>The Lark Ascending<\/i> de Vaughan Williams), Faur\u00e9 (dans le mode expansif qui le caract\u00e9rise), Philippe Gaubert (dont on pourrait qualifier la musique bien con\u00e7ue de conservatrice et s\u00e9duisante) et Enesco (dont <i>Cantabile<\/i> et <i>Presto<\/i>, \u00e9galement de 1904, s\u2019av\u00e8rent une plate-forme appropri\u00e9e pour la chaleur tonale et la virtuosit\u00e9 pure de Langevin).<\/p>\n<p>Certaines de ces pi\u00e8ces ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9es \u00e0 des fins d\u2019examen au Conservatoire de Paris. Margaret Kampmeier est l\u2019incisive pianiste accompagnatrice; James M. Keller fournit des notes de livret si \u00e9rudites qu\u2019elles constituent pratiquement une monographie. La fl\u00fbte de Langevin, nous dit-on, est une \u00ab\u00a0Brannen-Cooper d\u2019argent avec une embouchure Lafin en or 18 carats\u00a0\u00bb. Et le son est d\u2019or. Autre fait int\u00e9ressant r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 dans le livret\u00a0: l\u2019enregistrement a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait \u00e0 la Manhattan School of Music en 2012.
