Pour ceux qui se soucient de la musique classique, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 frustrant de ne pouvoir \u00e9couter de la musique en direct. Pour ceux qui font de la musique pour gagner leur vie, c\u2019est d\u00e9vastateur pour l\u2019\u00eatre et m\u00eame pour la carri\u00e8re. Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin a vu son habituel tourbillon de concerts \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, New York, Philadelphie et ailleurs se r\u00e9duire \u00e0 un filet. L\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 dernier, alors qu\u2019il ne pouvait presque plus diriger, il s\u2019est remis au piano et le r\u00e9sultat est ce fascinant album solo enregistr\u00e9 dans la salle de concert du Domaine Forget, dans Charlevoix. De fait, Yannick a \u00e9t\u00e9 contraint de faire de la musique tout seul. Mais il avait une autre motivation. Son professeur de piano de longue date, Anisia Campos (1928-2020) venait de d\u00e9c\u00e9der. Madame Campos est n\u00e9e au Br\u00e9sil et a ensuite \u00e9tudi\u00e9 avec Cortot et Arrau. Yannick a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 avec elle \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al pendant pr\u00e8s de 10 ans.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yannick s\u2019est r\u00e9cemment produit avec l\u2019Orchestre M\u00e9tropolitain jouant Mozart, mais ses prestations solos sont rares. Mais comme on pouvait s\u2019y attendre avec un musicien aussi dou\u00e9, lorsqu\u2019il s\u2019assoit au piano, il a quelque chose \u00e0 dire. Dans cet album, le r\u00e9pertoire a \u00e9t\u00e9 soigneusement choisi pour se rapporter \u00e0 la m\u00e9lancolie que beaucoup d\u2019entre nous ont ressentie au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00e9coul\u00e9e. Aucune des pi\u00e8ces choisies ne parle de virtuosit\u00e9 technique. M\u00eame les \u0153uvres de Scarlatti (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Sonate K. 87 en si mineur<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">), Haydn (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Sonate n\u00b033 en ut mineur<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">) et Mozart (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Adagio K. 540 en si mineur<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">) sont teint\u00e9es de tristesse et, oui, d\u2019introspection. Yannick les joue toutes avec soin et conviction et r\u00e9siste \u00e0 la tentation de les faire exprimer plus que leurs compositeurs ne l\u2019ont voulu.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Parmi les faits saillants, il y a une lecture r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie de <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Pr\u00e9lude et fugue en ut mineur<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> op. 87 de Chostakovitch et une interpr\u00e9tation sombre et puissante de la <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Rhapsodie en sol mineur<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> op. 79 n\u00b0\u00a02 de Brahms. L\u2019ensemble comprend \u00e9galement <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>D\u2019apr\u00e8s Hopper<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, une courte pi\u00e8ce d\u2019\u00c9ric Champagne (1980-) \u00e9crite express\u00e9ment pour Yannick. Champagne a \u00e9t\u00e9 compositeur en r\u00e9sidence de l\u2019OM entre 2012 et 2014. L\u2019excellence du son de l\u2019enregistrement refl\u00e8te la qualit\u00e9 exemplaire de la salle de concert de 600 places du Domaine Forget.
