Si nous pensons aujourd&#8217;hui que quelque chose ressemble \u00e0 de la &#8220;musique de film&#8221;, il portera l&#8217;une des deux empreintes suivantes : celle d&#8217;Erich Wolfgang Korngold \u00e0 Hollywood ou celle de Rota \u00e0 Cinecitta.<\/p>\n<p>Comme celle de Korngold, la musique &#8220;s\u00e9rieuse&#8221; de Rota souffre de la comparaison. Riccardo Muti, l&#8217;un de ses \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 Bari, a fait revivre certaines de ses partitions de concert. Le pr\u00e9sent album, avec un casting de vedettes de l&#8217;Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin, braque les projecteurs sur une paire de trios et un nonet que Rota a \u00e9crits \u00e0 Bari au sommet de sa productivit\u00e9 cin\u00e9matographique.<\/p>\n<p>Homme priv\u00e9, de petite taille et peu loquace, Rota avait un don rare pour l&#8217;introspection musicale. Fellini a dit : &#8220;Son monde \u00e9tait int\u00e9rieur, \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur de lui-m\u00eame, et la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 n&#8217;avait aucun moyen d&#8217;y p\u00e9n\u00e9trer&#8221;. Ses trios dansent sur toutes les port\u00e9es, mais on y entend une petite voix immobile dans une nature sauvage et exil\u00e9e. Le nonet n&#8217;est pas moins \u00e9tonnant, atteignant une transcendance bien au-dessus du cours g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la conversation musicale, \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9gal du chef-d&#8217;\u0153uvre contemporain de Martinu. Emanuel Pahud, Daishin Kashimoto, Aur\u00e9lien Pascal et leurs amis sont tenus en haleine par des inspirations vives.
