Les <i>Pr\u00e9ludes<\/i> op. 28 \u2013 monumentaux dans leur int\u00e9gralit\u00e9, fascinants dans leurs parties \u2013 n\u00e9cessitent une attention toute particuli\u00e8re. Le pr\u00e9lude d\u2019ouverture en do majeur (marqu\u00e9 Agitato) a un son indescriptible et plusieurs autres sont d\u00e9pouill\u00e9s de leurs modificateurs \u00ab\u00a0molto\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0assai\u00a0\u00bb. Le petit ballet qu\u2019est le n\u00b0\u00a07 en la majeur semble vaciller et la \u00ab\u00a0goutte de pluie\u00a0\u00bb du n\u00b0\u00a015 en r\u00e9 b\u00e9mol majeur n\u2019offre qu\u2019un cr\u00e9pitement r\u00e9gulier pour le complimenter. Ivo Pogorelich (pour n\u2019en nommer qu&#8217;un sur des dizaines de concurrents) projette une ligne de basse plus chantante dans le n\u00b0\u00a06 en si mineur et trouve plus de couleur et de caract\u00e8re rythmique dans le <i>Lento<\/i> r\u00eaveur du n\u00b0\u00a013 en fa di\u00e8se majeur. Richard-Hamelin semble le plus \u00e0 l\u2019aise dans les humeurs aimables du n\u00b0\u00a017 en la b\u00e9mol majeur et du n\u00b0\u00a021 en si b\u00e9mol majeur. Cela ne signifie pas que le solennel n\u00b0\u00a02 en la mineur ou l\u2019endiabl\u00e9 n\u00b0\u00a016 en si b\u00e9mol mineur sont moins habilement r\u00e9alis\u00e9s, mais la concurrence dans ce r\u00e9pertoire est intense. M\u00eame le son de l&#8217;enregistrement semble un peu gonfl\u00e9.
